Since the IKDI network launched an appeal for refugee aid in September 2015, dozens of companies have donated extra products to provide support to charities responding to the unprecedented crisis in Europe and further afield.
In France, during the first six months of the appeal, Dons Solidaires has distributed more than 650,000 Euros worth of goods to refugee shelters, welcome centres and in particular the refugee camps in the Calais area.
Secours Populaire has received vital hygiene products and household goods from Dons Solidaires for distribution to hundreds of refugees. As well as essential items, and to bring a little relief, gifts and Easter eggs have also been distributed.
A representative from Secours Populaire said: “Many thanks for the generous product donations which are so very, very useful for the many refugees at Grande Synthe, the Calais Jungle and the Jules Ferry shelter. Thanks to you we received a warm welcome in the camps. We have been able to provide much needed items, in particular for children and babies.”
